The only technical limitation is that your database must allow us to create indexes. It has been coded to be compatible with MySQL5.6+ so you should be fine.

It doesn’t do anything at the htaccess or nginx level – it optimises your database queries by adding indexes, rewriting certain queries and providing options to eliminate some slow functionality.
